Dulux Acratex commercial or industrial Metal or Colorbond roof restoration process:

Severe storm damage and heavy rust had left this metal roof at Plasser Cresent, North St Marys NSW 2760, in bad shape.
Wind and water had affected the roof's surface, stripping away its protective coating and leaving the home susceptible to further weather exposure and water damage.

With the help of professional roofing applicators, the roof was completely refreshed and transformed.

See the step-by-step process for commercial or industrial metal or Colorbond roof restoration below.

Step 1: commercial or industrial Roof damage assessment

A commercial or industrial roof inspection revealed the extent of the roof's storm damage and rust formation on the substrate.
Rain, wind and hail had taken its toll and worn away at the paint work, stripping the roof of protection and exposing the metal substrate to the elements.
The Duravex Roofing Group a Dulux Acratex registered roofing applicator created a roof restoration plan to properly safeguard the roof against future storm and weather exposure.

Step 2: commercial or industrial Roof repair and clean

The roof was then repaired, with damaged metal sheets fixed and missing metal screws replaced.

? Removal of all screws and washers on the corrugated/Colorbond roof and replace them with new industry standard roofing screws and washers.
? Supply and install new 50mm roofing screws for the entire Metal Roof
? M6-13 x 50mm Zip-It SD Roofing Screws Colorbond®
? COLORBOND® colour range. Zip-It self-drilling screws are suitable for roofing applications when fixing to steel or timber. Screw down roof sheeting to steel or timber without the need for pre-drilling.
? Available in Colorbond® Steel colours or plain with neo washers to provide a watertight seal.
? Class 4 mechanically galvanised as per AS3566.2
? Excellent corrosion resistance.
? Assembled with a neoprene sealing washer.
? Complete compatibility with zinc and Colorbond® coated sheets

Rust damage was identified and treated with rust removal and rust converter before the roof was pressure washed to remove dirt and debris that had built up from age and storm exposure.

removed as a surface problem, and able to coat with water-based or
acrylic-based paint.

The high pressure cleans also removed loose and flaking paint and prepared the roof for the application of its final protective coating.

Step 3: commercial or industrial Roof membrane application and painting

The roof was then primed with a high-build solution designed to prevent corrosion and provide maximum adhesion of the roof membrane coating.
The final step of the roof restoration process was the application of the Dulux Acratex roof membrane. Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane offers a durable barrier and protects the roof against dirt & atmospheric pollutants.

The application of the Dulux Acratex roof membrane was the penultimate phase in the process of restoring the roof. The Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane provides a long-lasting barrier that insulates the roof from dirt and other contaminants that are present in the atmosphere.
The Business facilities manager chose a paint finish in Colorbond® Dune®, a natural shade selected to perfectly blend with the commercial and industrial roof surroundings.

Commercial or Industrial Finished Roof Restoration:

The roof restoration is now complete, and the roof looks brand new again. The old, damaged roof has been completely revitalised with a fresh finish and the peace of mind of long-lasting Dulux Acratex protection.
